4-H Sacramento County

4-H programs for the 2014-2015 program year are starting up.

Country Centre Club's first club meeting of the year is Monday, September 8th.   Newcomers are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 where they will be greeted by friendly 4-H youth member to learn about what the 4-H program has to offer.

What is 4-H?

4-H is a county youth development program, of the University of California Cooperative Extension, U.S. Department of Agriculture.  It is open to all youth ages 5-19 years of age.

Why join 4-H?

The benefits of being part of 4-H are long lasting and can be life changing. You do not need to own livestock to participate in 4-H.
-Learn leadership and public speaking skills.
-Learn goal setting, responsibility and record keeping.
-Participate in youth-adult partnerships where both share equally in the decision-making process.
-Participate in projects based on the youth's interests such as animals, healthy living, cooking, sewing, communication, community service, citizenship, or science based.  Projects are only limited by what a member has an interest in and the availability of adult volunteers.
