Sacramento Area’s BSA Pack 107 would like to introduce you toFamily Scouting!
We are now accepting both boys and girls ages 6-10 to begin their adventure in scouting.  Many questions have risen since BSA decided to admit girls into their program so they’ve created a little video to answer your questions.  Follow the link below for a 3 min overview of family scouting (video #2).  Video #3 is a 4 minute Q & A about incorporating girls into the program.

If you’d like to learn more about Pack 107, please contact us at pack107do@gmail.com  or visit our website at http://www.pack107.net/wp/  We also have a Facebook page that lists our current activities.

Mark your calendar now for our yearly Kick-Off BBQ August 21st at Madera Park in Citrus Heights.

Pack 107 is a Christian Family scouting unit with our primary outreach for recruitment to the Christian homeschooled community.  Our primary mission in implementing the BSA program is to build positive moral character and good citizenship in our sons and daughters in an outdoor setting, as well as fellowship between families with similar vision for upholding God’s holy scriptural standards for living.  We have families from all over the Sacramento region (from Antelope, North Highlands, Rio Linda, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville, Auburn, Loomis, Granite Bay, Rancho Cordova, Gold River, even Cameron Park).  We meet weekly at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks, but are currently at Madera park for our summer activities.

Troop 107 is exploring the possibility of beginning an all-girls Troop in Feb 2019 to complete our Family Scouting program.  If you are interested, please let us know.

About:
My name is Debbie Diano.  I have a passion for all things arts and crafts.  I believe in a well rounded art program that allows time for art production but also exposes students to art history and aesthetics.  I have a variety of experience in art and education (for further detail, see below). Although I love exploring new mediums and techniques, printmaking and 3 dimensional art are two of my favorites.

I recently had the opportunity to teach creative arts and textile arts classes at my daughters’ summer camp.  That experience, along with home schooling, has reawakened my passion for teaching art.  Thus the idea of Busy Bugs began.

Writing with Kris

Hello parents,                                                                                         August 5, 2018

It’s the first week in August, which means it’s finally time to register for Writing with Kris classes!
I have tried to include as much information as possible on my website (www.writingwithkris.com), so please be sure to take a look at everything that’s happening with Writing with Kris.  I am offering new classes, in new locations, along with new grade levels, so don’t miss out on an opportunity that might be a great fit for your child. Go to www.writingwithkris.com
New Information
Here is a bit of information I’d like to highlight for you, but you’ll have to go to the website for details:
  1. Once again, Wednesday classes in Orangevale include a class for 1st/2nd graders!!
  2. Thursday classes in Roseville/Rocklin will now include a class for 6-8thgraders, as well as a class for high schoolers.
  3. Writing with Kris is partnering with Inspire Learning Academy in Auburn to offer a 15-week, 30-hour literature-based writing class for high school students on Mondays.
  4. One of our outstanding teachers, Mrs. Malinowski, is offering an online College Prep literature-based writing class. Days and times still need to be coordinated based on the students who plan to attend this class.
  5. Writing with Kris is partnering with Fusion Elite in Rocklin to offer three different enrichment classes for students in grades 1-8.

Tutoring
For a variety of reasons tutoring lessons are a better option for some families.  I will begin pairing up students with tutors at this time.  Tutoring will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, so let me know right away if you would like to arrange tutoring lessons.
Directions to arrange tutoring lessons:
  1. Simply reply to this email with the following information:
  • Child’s (children’s) names
  • Parent’s name (first and last)
  • Parent’s phone number
  • What libraries you live near to meet for tutoring lessons
  • What school days and times are you NOT able to schedule tutoring lessons due to prior commitments
  • Name of charter school: please include charter school teacher’s name, phone number, and email (or indicate private pay)
Online option
If the onsite classes and tutoring are not going to work for you, online classes and tutoring via Skype are also available to anyone.  These classes have proven to be very convenient and beneficial to students. My website has details regarding the online classes that are being offered.
There is even a late afternoon class online specifically scheduled to accommodate students who are in traditional schools, yet their writing instruction is lacking.

Please feel free to send me an email if you have questions.  You may also call me and leave a message if you need to discuss what would be the appropriate class for your child/children.

Grammar Program at Legacy Classical Academy

Do you envision an educational atmosphere for your Kindergartner-6th grader that is full of DELIGHT, reading wonderful BOOKS, AND an excellent, ACADEMIC experience?

The one day a week Grammar Program at Legacy Classical Academy is designed to help you achieve just that by complementing the unique developmental phase of K-6th graders. We focus on introducing interesting concepts, creating beautiful experiences, and taking advantage of those brains that absorb so much information by filling them with necessary facts and information that they can use later on! We delight their experiences through Reader's Theater, Art, Experiments and Stories!

And all of this wonder is achieved in partnership with the other parents in the community by sharing the teaching load with a pre-designed program, and a pre-determined curriculum. The individuality of each student is cherished and honored through a flexible yet guided homework schedule.

Check out this class, and so many others, as well as an incredible Logic and Rhetoric Program for 7th-12th graders! We have one FINAL Information Meeting THIS FRIDAY. Please RSVP as seating is limited.

You can see us online at www.LegacySchole.com.
