Apologetics Club (March and April Dates)

Bridgeway Christian Homeschool Support Group would like to welcome you (and any Jr. High/High School student) to join us for our next two Apologetics Club meetings! We are continuing to offer a once per month event that will help your student hear answers to questions they may be thinking about. My goal for my own kids is that they develop a Biblical worldview. I pray that their faith is challenged and they have opportunities to ask questions while they are still under my roof.
Each event will be on a Friday afternoon, but we do not have a set Friday each month as it’s dependent upon speaker availability. Below are the next two that are scheduled. If you have questions and if youd like to RSVP, please email Brenda Johnston at johnstohouse@gmail.com.

DATE: Friday, March 22nd
TIME: 2:00-4:00pm
Upstairs in Classroom 1
TOPIC: Should Christians watch films dealing with witchcraft and the occult that God says are an abomination to him? Is this a black and white issue? Do demons truly exist? What is the Wicca movement? Do witch schools really exist? What is the Illuminatii Eye and what does 666 mean? We'll explore Genesis Apologetics newly released 20-minute documentary on these topics and how they relate to our culture today with a special emphasis on the Harry Potter craze. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of students engaging in these books and films.
Speaker: Dan Biddle, Ph.D. and Founder of Genesis Apologetics, www.genesisapologetics.com. You can also follow them on YouTube and Facebook.

DATE: Friday, April 26th
TIME: 2:00-4:00pm
Upstairs in Classroom 1
TOPIC: What is abortion? What is the unborn? What gives humans value? What is our duty? What does the Bible say about abortion? What should the role of government be on this issue? Whats going on in the news? Well discuss and debunk bad arguments and objections to the Pro-Life movement such as: What about rape and incest? If you dont like abortion then dont get one. What if the mother’s life is in danger? What about my body, my choice? What if the baby is deformed? It’s just a blob of tissue. It’s not a person because it’s not conscious. It can’t feel pain. This is a sensitive topic that is making headlines in the news right now. At some point, someone you know may consider an abortion—what should you say to them? Parents—I encourage you to join in on this topic if you are able, however, it’s not necessary if you have younger children to care for. Figures of babies at different stages will be shown. In addition, a 60-second video clip will be shown of a deceased baby after an abortion has been performed.
Speaker: James Jenkins is a Pro-Life advocate that speaks in churches and colleges throughout our region. He runs an apologetics class at The Pointe church in Antelope.

COST: $5/student (parents are free)
WHO CAN ATTEND: ONLY students 6th grade and up. Parents are also encouraged to stay if you do not have younger students. If you do have younger siblings, feel free to drop your OKG students off. Do to the sensitive nature of some topics that will be discussed at this event or future Apologetics events, we are requesting that only 6th grade and older students attend.
HOW TO RSVP: RSVP for number of students. If parent is staying, let me know that as well.
HOW TO PAY: You may pay the day of the event in exact cash only. However, we ask that if you sign up, you commit to coming, so please check your schedules. We are paying a speaker fee and need to have accurate numbers of attendees for handouts.
We are excited about this opportunity for growth and hope you can attend! Let me know if you have questions.
P.S. If the cost is a hardship for you, please message me and I’d love to chat with you. I would like your student there!
