Creation Club Speaker August 24th

On Monday, August 24, Caleb LePore, Founder of Foundations Creation Club, will be presenting “Noah’s Ark, National Parks, and Natural History Museums”at Grace Bible Church, 1390 Baseline Rd., Roseville at 7:00 p.m.
Everywhere we turn in our culture, we hear loud (and often mocking) proclamations that the Bible got it wrong when it said that Noah's Flood really covered the Earth, sweeping away all who didn't board God's Ark of salvation. Meanwhile, National Parks and Natural History Museums teach the public another history of the world--one of millions of years of slow, gradual processes--as 'scientific truth.' However, in the back rooms of science, more and more scientists are starting to see that Earth's geologic features were formed quickly by FLOODING!
Come hear 18-year old Caleb LePore, leader and speaker at Foundations Creation Club as he shares what he has discovered--from his own personal research--about what Scripture and scientists are saying about Noah's Ark, National Parks, and the Natural History Museum. This presentation is sure to be a fascinating and educational journey of discovery that is meant to encourage you and your whole family to stand strong on God's Truth!
In Christ,
Chuck and Sandy Yarbrough

AFROTC Hight School Scholarship Program

Hello Home School Families,

I want to make you aware of a scholarship that would help defray the cost of a college education.  The AFROTC (Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps)* High School Scholarship Program (HSSP) is a four year scholarship awarded to students who desire to participate in AFROTC.  To be considered, high school seniors should apply by Dec 1, 2015.  The scholarship would begin fall 2016 (college freshman year).  While the scholarships are competitive, there is no obligation for applying.

If you have a child that is entering their high school senior year this fall semester, you can apply now by going to: https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships.  There is additional program information on this website.

William Jessup University (WJU) is now home to a new AFROTC program.  Students can graduate from WJU and go on to pursue careers as U. S. Air Force Officers.  Please contact me if you would like to discuss the many opportunities of AFROTC and beyond.

*AFROTC is a program that develops college students to become future leaders as Air Force Officers.

Video Focus Group for Hight School Students

We need High School Students for our Video Focus Group!
We are hosting a focus group on Sunday, August 30th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm to give our 12 video scripts a "practice run" before filming. The scripts for our creation v. evolution video mini-series have been drafted (by Creation Quest) and we will have our two actors read through them and provide as much visual support to our reviewers as possible! Covenant Media will be filming and producing our video project after the scripts have been finalized by this process, and their subsequent review.

We are paying reviewers $50 to attend the workshop and providing snacks. Reviewers should be public school students between 9th and 12th grade, or Fresh/Soph in college. Students must have completed high school biology class. If you're interested, please email: dan@genesisapologetics.com and we'll provide more details!
Sincerely,

SB 277 Vaccine Law - No Change This School Year

LEGISLATIVE Newsflash - August 12, 2015
From:  Roy Hanson -- Family Protection Ministries
SB 277 Vaccine Law - No Change This School Year
We are not attorneys and we are not giving out legal advice. HSLDA is available to answer legal questions for their members.
SB 277 will not go into effect until July 1, 2016. That means no changes in the mandatory vaccination law for this new 2015-2016 school year, this fall. The current mandatory vaccination law and forms used this past year will continue to be in effect until July 1, 2016.
Children enrolled in a home-based private school or any other type of school will need to have the personal beliefs exemption form CDPH 8262 signed by an authorized health care provider and filed to be exempt from vaccines required for school attendance for this new 2015-2016 school year, which for most people begins August or September of this year, 2015.
We and HSLDA will be researching and providing information on how this new law (which goes into affect next year) will affect private homeschoolers.
This document is not intended to be, nor does it constitute the giving of legal advice.  If you have further specific questions regarding this or any other legal issue please contact HSLDA as a member (540) 338-5600 or www.hslda.org.
