Required Materials: Laptop/tablet (with online access and word program), planner & 2" three-ring binder with dividers and lined paper

Course Description: This course will introduce Students to investigative reporting and how to do it well. They will study the basic principles of print and online journalism as they explore the ways media has changed over the decades in our society, landing into today's era. Students will conduct interviews, research, write, and design their own publications.

Required Textbook: Halpern, Charna Close, Del and Johnson, Kim Howard. (1994) Truth in Comedy: The Manual for Improvisation, Meriwether Pub.
Required Materials: Binder, Notebook paper, 1 pack of Notecards, highlighter, pen/pencil
Pre-Requisites: Students must be able to work independently when required, have motivation to memorize scripts when necessary, have the ability to read aloud and demonstrate appropriate maturity level when improvising.

Course Description: 
This year-long class will introduce students to the history of improv, technique, improvisation skills/games, and the fundamentals of stage acting. Through Group and Individual Performances, using props and stage direction, students will learn about roles and acting techniques. This class will provide opportunities for students to develop skills in critical listening and thinking, as well as stage presence, ensemble work, and aesthetic awareness. Students will demonstrate their understanding and knowledge through performance assessments done throughout each semester.

Ronni Ernenputsch has been married for almost 6 years and has two beautiful children and a lovely step-daughter. Ronni earned her Bachelors in Sociology, with a Minor in English Literature from Vanguard University in 2004. Then she went on to receive her Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2009. She has taught in the classroom for 8 years and loves the opportunity to help students discover learning in fun and dynamic ways.  Ronni's faith is very important to her and it helps shape her into a better teacher.
