To pack meals:

Here is a brief video about how a mobile pack works – in case you’ve never been to one of these before.

If you sign up to pack meals with us, you will receive an e-mail (originating from Alexia Hall) about a week before the event.  It will have important information about what to wear, what time to arrive, parking, etc.  Watch for it (might possibly go to your spam folder) and please pass it along to everyone in your family/group.

Donations are gladly accepted to help us cover the cost of the meals but it is not required so please do not let that stop you from serving with us!!!

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions!  heilyyoung@jps.net or 916-782-4411

Photography Club

Hi Everyone, Our schedule is set for Photography Club.
Our first meeting will be on Friday, October 4.
There is still time to sign up, so if your child is interested, please email me as soon as possible with the names and ages of your children. Email me at notjustanyjen at aol dot com.

**For those who have already signed up, you don't need to do anything yet.
I will be sending you an email this weekend with instructions for our first project and the locations for our first few meetings.

We will meet on Fridays at 10 a.m. from October 4 through November 22. We will take a break at that point and our meetings will resume on January 10.

The date of our final show is yet to be determined, but will take place in late January or early February.

We will be meeting at each week at various locations throughout Roseville and Sacramento. This is open to kids of all ages, but each participant must know how to operate his or her camera - at least at the very basic level. If your child is interested, please sign up as soon as possible. I will be sending instructions for the first project this weekend.

The kids will be working on it during the week BEFORE our first meeting and they will be bringing pictures to our first meeting! Information from the original post is copied below: This will be not be a photography class. I am not a professional photographer, so this will be something we do purely for fun. We will be learning about some elements of photography such as light, perspective, color, etc., but I am not an expert and I will be acting as a guide rather than a teacher.

This club will meet once per week.

At the end of the session, we will get together to display some of the kids' favorite photos and we will invite friends and family to come to their "show." We will determine the date and location for this event after we have started our session. At each weekly meeting, the kids will share their photos from the previous week's project. They will have a project to work on at home each week and a project to work on at the location where we meet each week. In order to participate in this club, each child will need a digital camera of any variety. Also, you must commit to bringing prints of several photos each week.

This club will really be the most enjoyable for everyone if everyone brings their photos to share each week. The kids will learn a lot from seeing what everyone else is doing.

**NOTE: The participants must bring actual prints on photo paper rather than simply printing on regular paper. Also, sharing on a digital device will not be acceptable. We have learned the hard way that passing around digital devices among a group of mixed-age kids is not always a terrific idea. There is no cost to join this club, but you will have the expense of having photos printed each week. For the final "show" event, each child will be responsible for setting up a photo display using materials of his or her choice.

If you are interested in joining, please email me at notjustanyjen@aol.com and let me know the name and age of your child. Thank you! Jen

Epic Indoor Skatepark Considering Homeschool Sessions

From Epic:

EPIC Indoor Skatepark would like to host a homeschoolers session during the school day.  Would anyone be interested in this?  If so, what days/times would work for you?
This a top ranked indoor skate facility in Roseville (next to SkyZone and HotShots.). The skate session would be for scooters. Their price for the general public is $12 for 2 hours but if we may be able to get a reduced rate. However I can't guarantee that.   I'm just trying to find out the level of interest. Thanks for responding.
