Docent led tours are available in our museums daily. For those that want to dig a little deeper into our history, we offer many site specific tours and programs.
Bernhard Living History For Schools
The whole experience lasts about four hours. Students leave with a much better understanding of what life was like over 100 years ago. The Living History Program is designed to meet specific third grade curriculum standards.
Parent Online Training for parent volunteers!

This program takes place at the Bernhard Museum Complex.

Gold Rush Program
This tour for fourth graders takes place at the Gold Country Museum.
It's a two-hour interactive program targeting fourth grade state curriculum standards, concerning the Gold Rush, using museum exhibits and primary resource material from the Placer County Archives.
This tour is available in winter and early spring.

Old Town Walking Tour
Join us every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. sharp – rain or shine – for a free guided tour of Old Town Auburn. The tour begins at the Courthouse, 101 Maple Street, and lasts about one hour.

We host monthly community education programs at various locations around the county. These programs range from tutorials on how to properly care for clothing to live Gold Rush era music and even tours of the Old Auburn Cemetery.
