PCYO Winter Concert ~ Carnival of the Animals March 16th

PCYO Winter Concert ~ Carnival of the Animals

This is a great way to teach children classical music in an interesting way. There will be program notes telling about all the pieces. Come and hear how the orchestra can make the sounds of cats, birds, elephants, donkeys, fish. We will be featuring two fine homeschooled pianists, Elsa Gustaffson and Hailey Adler as we embark on the "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint Saens. You can hear Tchaikovskys lovely interpretation of swans in, "Swan Lake", listen to kittens meow and romp in Leroy Anderson's, "Waltzing Cat", listen to the smooth jazzy panther in Henry Mancini's, "The Pink Panther" and finally listen to all the musicians as they represent characters in Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf". This and more will be presented in a kid friendly manner by amazing local young musicians of the Placer County Youth Orchestra.

Sunday Evening March 16, 2014 7:00 Valley Springs Presbyterian Church Roseville.
$8.00 Adults and children under 10 free.
