Our mission: ELEVATE the name of God and impact the world for His glory!

Our commitment: Support students as they learn to think critically, to confidently communicate truth, and to humbly lead in whatever capacity God has for them.

Our desire: Have a ton of fun in the process!

A few expected Q & A:

Q: How old does my student need to be to participate?
A: The club is for ages 12 - 18.  Debate is for high school or highly motivated 8th graders - if we can find them a partner.  High School students will have priority in partnerships.  Speech is for both Jr. and Sr. High.

Q: What is STOA?
A:  From their website: Stoa is a national High School and Junior High Speech and Debate organization serving the needs of privately educated, Christian Homeschooling families. Stoa exists to train Christian homeschooled youth in speech and debate to better communicate a Biblical world view. Each year the Stoa Board offers the National Invitational Tournament of Champions (NITOC), inviting students from across the United States to perform, speak and debate to the glory of God. StoaUSA

Q: Do I have to be a homeschooler to participate?
A:  STOA sets the policy.  The short answer is: YES - A privately home schooled student.
For more info check out their site http://stoausa.org/faq/#eligibility_link

Q: What is the cost to participate?
A: We are estimating the cost to join the club at $300 for the year.  STOA membership is an additional $50 fee, competition attire will cost a penny or two, and depending on your commitment level tournaments can be the bulk of your expense.
