April 3rd  - The True Story of the Pony Express & the One Room School house.  Howdy partners. Come along with Ranger Bruce and learn about the Pony Express and the Christian men who started it. The mail was delivered to Sacramento from St. Joseph, Mo. Believe it or not mail got through in 10 days. Men and boys risked their lives to get the mail past the Indians, buffalo stampedes, and prairie fires. I will teach you about one very famous 11 year old boy from right here in Sacramento who rode for the Pony Express. You will want to learn all about him. Many of the riders went on to become world famous. Some joined up with Buffalo Bill to travel the world. You will learn about the young girl named “Little Miss Sure Shot” and some of her incredible marksmanship. Yes, you guessed it, Annie Oakley. All the girls will want to learn about her. Cost - $35.00 per family. Meet in front of the Railroad Museum – Old town Sacramento. Time 10:00 – 12:00 - To sign up, contact your ES - vendor name Bruce Larson
Each family will receive a “1960” Pony Express Centennial postage stamp. This is a 55 year old stamp in mint condition (never been used) yours free for being part of this class. (A $12.00 value) Also young girls will receive from Ranger Bruce, a playing card shot threw the center and autographed by Annie Oakley herself. Reproduced by the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show 1884. (Priceless)
April 3rd – Tour of an Old Schoolhouse Place:  Old Sacramento – This is a real eye opener if you’re a student today. In the 1800’s, life in a one room schoolhouse was very different than today. Back in the 1800’s (old school) you were at school by 8:00 and that was after you worked at home. Children were up by 6:00am and helped milk the cow and collect eggs from the chickens. After that you walked to school (some children walked up to 6 miles) and began your lessons. Come join me and see what life as a student was like. You better obey the school rules or the teacher might swat you. (Limits were up to 10 swats) Boys and girls were separated in school. Do you know why? We will meet for afternoon of learning and fun. You will get to sit in an old desk for your lesson. Time – 1:00 to 2:00
April is freebie Friday month. All mothers will receive free the booklet Final Exam for 8th grade students 1872. This is a five hour test for 8thgraders and completes their education unless they can go on to a college. (Value $8.00)

April 10th State Capital Tour - Sacramento - Bruce will take you on a special deluxe tour of the capital. We will walk around all 3 levels and see the House and Senate chambers. I will teach you about our government and how it works. Time – 10:00 – 12:00 (No building fees – Parking meters or garage available) Costs - $35.00 per family - meet on the EAST steps of the capital. That’s the steps with the sun shining on them. Bruce will have a green clipboard so you can identify him. He will also show you the tree that went to the moon. No kidding, it really did.
- From a homeschool Mom......."Wow, are you in for a treat if you haven't been through this tour with Bruce. He can take you into many areas that the public never sees. The capital is huge and beautiful on the inside. The tour includes both House and Senate chambers, as well as all historical areas. Bruce took us to our senator's office and we met with her for an hour. She opened the door to the floor of the senate and we sat at her desk and took pictures. Soooooooooo cool. He even got us into the governor's office and we all got his personal business card. He was not in town but it was GREAT!" THANKS, BRUCE! YOU’RE THE BEST…………..Brenda

Several decades have passed since Mt. St. Helens erupted. Come join Ranger Bruce and see actual footage of the volcano erupting and throwing huge boulders out of the mountain. They were the size of cars. These high definition videos will amaze you as you see the power of the volcano. We will look at plate tectonics and how the plates move under the earth. Did you know that the continents are moving a few inches every year? Come join Ranger Bruce and learn what happened at Mt. St Helens and see the new little Grand Canyon the eruption formed. This will prove that we have a young Earth.
I know, you’re wondering what Ica stones are. These stones were dug up in Peru by native Indians. There are thousands of them and there centuries old. They are found high up in the mountains and you won’t believe what is carved on these stones. Dinosaurs! That’s right. You’ve got to see the pictures of these stones. Lot of sun flares, sun spots and activity will be going on. Part 2 of this deluxe astronomy study will be in the evening. May 29th –The Earth before the Flood - Did you know that the Earth was very different before the flood of Noah? There was a vapor canopy above the Earth protecting the people and animals. The Bible says that there was no rain or clouds. There was just a mist that came up from the ground to water the garden. The mountains rose up to the height we know now, after the flood. How else could all the fossils get everywhere and on every continent? The highest mountains have fossils on top. Ranger Bruce of will show you the many changes that have occurred. Much is given to us right out of the scriptures. You will learn about the ark and how God was able to get animals aboard the vessel from every continent.
