Finding the Right Match: The Process of Choosing a College for your LD/ADHD Student
The topic will include the following information:
1. SAT and ACT accommodations: How to receive them (the process), what type of accommodations are expected.
2. How to prepare your child for college success: Expectations, different type of supports systems at Universities.
3. How to receive accommodations in college. What type of assessment is needed, i.e. 504. What type of accommodations colleges tend to provide.
4. Universities geared to only learning differences/ADHD.
5. Universities that have programs specific to students with learning differences/ADHD.
Carol Rose has been an educator for over 30 years. She began her career as a teacher and taught for twelve years before working as a high school counselor. She's worked as a school counselor at Jesuit High School for the past twenty years. Carol has both a MS degree in Educational Counseling and a PPS School Counseling Credential. Carol recently completed the academic coursework for a specialty in Educational Therapy through UC Riverside. Carol is the director of the Academic Support Center at Jesuit High School which serves the needs of students with learning differences.
