Writing class sign-ups

I trust that you are had a special Christmas season with your family!  Now on the NEW YEAR: my kiddos are back home, the decorations are put away, and I am working on my “To Do” list for the new year.  That means that I need to get novels ordered for our new classes that will begin the second week in January!  Please reply to this email ASAP to let me know if your child/children will be joining any of our classes this semester.  Following is a list of the novels which will be taught for each grade level:

1st/2nd – TBD (possibly The Courage of Sarah Noble)
3rd/4th – The Sign of the Beaver*
5th6th – Amos Fortune – Free Man* (Natomas class MAY be studying The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe this semester.)
                7th/8th  - Words by Heart*
9th/ High School A – The Hiding Place*
College Prep – TBD (probably Oliver Twist or Pride and Prejudice)*
*These grades will be working of report writing for their enrichment project during the course of this class.

Private and skype tutoring is also available.

We are currently offering all classes at our Orangevale location on Wed. mornings.  Our Tuesday location in Natomas will offer 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7/8th if there are a minimum of 10 students signed up for each class.  I will also begin a new class in the Yuba City area on Friday mornings.  This will be a writing class only (no literary analysis).  I will teach two separate classes: one for 5-8th graders and one for 9-12th graders.

New students are welcome in any and all classes.  We recommend that new students also schedule a few private tutoring lessons with their teacher to help them get up to speed with the students from the last semester.

Most of you already know the routine for signing your child/children up for our classes:
1.       “Reply” to this email by Jan. 2, and give me the following information: each child’s name, grade level, location for class, payment method (including name of charter if appropriate), your phone number and mailing address if you are a new family.
2.      Order your vouchers: beginning date Jan. 13, and end date Mar. 24.
3.      Bring registration form and medical release only if you are enrolling a new child for this school year. (Forms available on my website.)
4.      Plan to arrive a few minutes early on the first day of class bringing paperwork and payments for your children.  Please make checks out to “Kris Cordell”.
5.      Feel free to email me or call me if you have any questions. (916-725-6473)

Feel free to forward this email on to your friends.  Also check out our website if you have not already done so (www.writingwithkris.com).

Thank you everyone.  May God bless you and your family in the New Year!

Kris Cordell
