New classes at Love of Learning Center / Rocklin

         New Classes for Spring Semester at Love of Learning Center

Cooking ClassTuesday 2:40-3:40, open to 7th grade and up, taught by Michal Thomas.
$135 for the semester plus $20 lab fee.
We will do mostly hands on cooking, with a couple of classes that are more introductory and technique. There will be a good mixture of healthy vs sweet. I plan to accommodate gluten free, nut free and mostly dairy free.

Technique Dance Class- Thursday 9-10am, open 7th grade and up, taught by Liz Perryman
 $135 a semester.
This class will focus on teaching classical dance techniques. Liz is a classically trained dancer, with 20 years of experience. No experience needed for this beginning class.
·         Ballet-Studying ballet is one of the most effective and elegant ways of improving posture, grace, flexibility, and strength.
·         Lyrical/Contemporary- Based in ballet and modern dance, this contemporary lyrical class teaches a fluid choreography, often using emotion to motivate the movement.

Beginning Ballet ClassTuesday 9-10am, open to 1st-6th grade, taught by Jennifer Adams
$135 a semester.
This class will be an introduction to formal classical ballet class structure. We will spend time doing bar work and center floor work. Positions and an emphasis on vocabulary and French terminology will be woven into the instruction. This will all encourage the improvement of posture and carriage, strengthen legs, feet, arms and core muscles, and foster a love of movement in your student. We end every class with a few minutes of free movement time when students will be able to use their imaginations and expanding knowledge of ballet movements.

Elementary GrammarTuesday 1:40-2:40, open to 1st-4th grade, taught by Ali Watford
$135 a semester.
This will be a fun class with a lot of classic instruction. We will focus on primary language lessons, copy
work (cursive or print), book journey notebooks, and spelling. We will read & memorize & explore &
explain & write & teach & have a great time doing it.

Jr. High Science ClassTuesday 10:05-11:35, 7th-8th grade, taught by Abner Apsley.
$225 a semester.
Life Science is an introductory level course designed to enable students to explore basic biological concepts in a laboratory setting. Students focus on concepts that are shared by all living things such as cell structure, biochemical make-up, and inheritance.

Financial Research-Thursday 11:05-12:00, 8th grade and up, taught by Ali Watford
$135 a semester.
The focus of this class will be on personal finance. We will be studying Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum to teach students how to avoid debt, budget with intention, invest, and build wealth. If you are with Horizons, you can sign up for PLP A and this class will cover it.
