$5 School Matinee Performances at the Harris Center in Folsom - Winter/Spring Schedule

The NEW Winter-Spring schedule for SCHOOL TIME MATINEE performances at the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom, CA is now available! Please forward this information to your teachers and front office staff...

There are many performances to choose from featuring world-class artists for students grades K-12. Music, dance, storytelling, science, theatre and more will delight students of all ages! A standards based study guide will be available for select performances. Limited transportation scholarships are available for qualified schools.

THE ELVES AND THE SHOEMAKER  California Theater Center

Laugh when two merry elves arrive at a small village in the Black Forest to discover a poor, gentle shoemaker who clearly needs their assistance. Their good deeds, kindness, and resourcefulness save the shoemaker and his wife from a bleak and unhappy holiday in this beloved CTC classic adored by both children and adults.

MASKED MARVELS & WONDERTALES  Michael Cooper

A non-stop one-man variety show offering a unique "moving sculpture" mixture of virtuoso stagecraft and museum quality art. A master sculptor, Michael has won universal praise for his breathtaking, handcrafted masks, which he brings to life with an unsurpassed mastery of mime, storytelling, stilt dancing, and audience participation.

PUSS IN BOOTS  California Theater Center

Be amused by this famous fairy tale about the adventures of a very clever, enterprising cat and his poor master as they journey across the French countryside in search of a better life. With the help of Puss, the young man meets a King and his lovely daughter and later outwits an awful ogre to win the hand of this beautiful maiden.

THE NILE PROJECTFriday, February 13, 2015 | 10:00 am
An unprecedented cross-cultural musical collaboration featuring musicians from countries along the Nile River, all of whom rely on the common shared resource of the river and its water, but historically have developed independently from one another.  The parallels between the Nile and California, with its system of shared water rights, makes this particularly relevant in today’s time of drought.

STUDENT NIGHT AT THE SYMPHONYFriday, February 13, 2015 | 6:45 pm
Join the Folsom Symphony for a special dress rehearsal of its Valentine's Day concert Tales of Love featuring violinist Linda Wang. Before the rehearsal and at intermission, the symphony's Music Director and Conductor Peter Jaffe will share insights into the inner workings of the orchestra and what to listen for during a performance.
