The American QuiltThis Friday, October 10, a concert of American music is being held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacramentin Sacramento. This choral music flows through America's history starting with the Colonial period. I thought of inviting your group because when I was homeschooled, I enjoyed learning history along with the the historical music.
October 10, 2014, 7:30 P.M.The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament's artists-in-residence Capella Antiqua invite you to join them for an evening of music written in (and about) the United States of America. Featuring works by Stephen Foster, William Billings, and Harry Burleigh, this concert reaches back to the early years of independence and continues on through the Civil War, Reconstruction, and all the way to the early twentieth century. Don't miss this chance to experience a slice of America's stunning musical history.
A pre-concert lecture will take place at 6:45 p.m. followed by the beginning of the concert at 7:30 p.m.Tickets: $15
