The Citizen Police Awareness Academy
The Citizen Police Awareness Academy provides community members with an inside look at local law enforcement. During the academy, students will be introduced to Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving.

Citizens will meet representatives from different parts of the Roseville Police Department like the K
9 Unit, Investigation’s Unit, Records Division, Search/Seizure, Gangs, Narcotics and a tour of the Roseville Police Department.

Participants are required to attend all eight sessions. This academy is designed to give Citizens an overview of the police department’s policies and procedures as well as to get them involved in the community. Academy classes are taught by police personnel.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the Chief of Police and staff members. The Roseville Police Department hopes to instill a greater awareness and understanding of law enforcement’s role in the community, through the education provided by the Citizen Police Academy.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Roseville Police Department offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. The academy will give citizens a better idea where they may be able to help. The Citizen academy is a required course in becoming a volunteer.
Academy Schedule
The Roseville Citizen Police Awareness Academy is offered biannually; it consists of eight sessions. Classes are held at the Roseville Police Department.  Visit the police community services webpage for the next academy dates.
Participant Requirements
Potential candidates for the Citizen Police Awareness Academy must meet the following criteria:
·         Minimum age of 18 years
·         Live or work in the Roseville area
