SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS and PLUGGED-IN BANDS are a go!

See registration information at the bottom of this e-mail (please do not hit reply) or contact Betty with further questions at b_price@cbmusicstudios.com

We asked...you answered! CB Music Studios is excited to announce its first ever summer music camp!

With feedback from families within the community just like yours, we've created several options for summer music camps that spans across various levels of experience and interests. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!

Because we are exploring this for the first time, spaces will be limited, so please register early!

*We know these camps may not be of interest for some families due to age of children, interests, schedule, or no longer being in the area. Even so, would you please help us reach into the community by passing this along to others? We believe these camps are going to be so great and are less expensive than other camps, we know many would benefit.*

See attached flyers for more details and links to register below!

  • It's been too long since our last workshop and it's time to kick things in gear with an epic workshop.  Drop your kids off for this one day camp or stay with them and learn alongside.  We will be making something the kids will be proud to display at home.
Project:  During this session, the kids will be creating a painting, and add up to 24 LEDs to bring it to life.  We will start with a brief overview of circuits and LEDs, followed by soldering the wires, painting the picture, and putting it all together.  For the kids that have learned how to program an Arduino, they will be able to hack the painting and change the display sequence (see picture of our prototype below)
Schedule:  June 11 and 12 (2 days) from 9:00am to 3:30pm.  I will be on site from 8:15am to 4:30pm and your kids are welcome to join early and/or stay late.  On Friday June 12, we will be displaying all the LED paintings from 3:00pm to 3:30pm.  Join us for our art show and some refreshments.
Price:  $80 per child.  The price includes all materials as well as breakfasts (fruits), lunches (pizza and other healthier options) and afternoon snacks.
What does your child need?  Nothing is required, however a laptop with the Arduino software installed will allow the kids to customize the display sequence.  A workshop on programming will be available later this Summer if interested.
Class size:  20 kids.  May be able to increase to 25 if I can get enough adults volunteers.   Send me an email "stephane at kidsv2.org" if you are able or interested in participating or have any questions.  No prior experience necessary.  Thank you!!

The concert is this Sunday May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church on Olympus Dr. We will be playing part of the New World Symphony, Hymn to the Fallen, Military and Armed Forces Salute, and other pieces that give historical perspective to our American History.

Online Homeschool Conference

There are so many amazing presentations, and we've worked a labor of love in putting it together to ensure that anyone who is homeschooling, or anyone who is looking into homeschooling, will find something that will help them get clarity and refocus.  Even veteran homeschoolers love our online conferences!

Please share about this amazing opportunity with every homeschool group, social media page, in newsletters, everywhere you can.  The dates are June 1-13th, and pre-registration is required.

As a homeschooler, you know that the cost of attending a live convention can sometimes be way out of reach for many people.  Combine that with travel time and the logistics of sitting in on speaker sessions and browsing the exhibit hall, and it can make a very long exhaustive day!

Our ONLINE conference will give people all the inspiration and resolution they need - with more than 30 live VIDEO presentations, interaction with the speakers, networking with other homeschoolers, shopping at a discount, even a TEEN TRACK.  And it is only $30 if they just want the live sessions.  If someone would like to stream the recordings after the event for a full year, then it's only $79.

It's super easy to attend - just get a ticket, login, and click play when the speaker goes live.  No travel, no parking, no hotels, relax in your yoga pants if you want to.

What a deal - and this is going to be so mind blowing!.  People are going to get real tools and real support that doesn't come in a box.

Here's the link - thanks so much for sharing!

Summer Drama Course

If you enjoy acting, join me, Hudson Rippetoe, this Summer as I direct a series of vignettes. Three short, one-act plays - one comedy and two dramas - will be chosen and, at the end of the summer, will be performed for an audience. If this is an activity which you are interested in, please contact me at hudsonripp@gmail.com or call me at (916) 351-1856.

My purpose:
-To teach or develop the skill of acting.
-To provide an outlet where friendships can be created and strengthened through the acting medium.

Details:
When: every Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00
Where: Curtis Park, Sacramento 95818
Cost: FREE!
Starts/ends: Tuesday, June 9th and ends on Tuesday, September 8th.
Who: High school teens

Please RSVP before Friday, June 5th. Upon your RSVP, you will be sent an excerpt from a play which you will be expected to memorize for tryouts on June 9th and the three vignettes we will be acting out. Please read over the vignettes and have an idea of which character you may want to play. Depending on the amount of people who join, some may have more roles than others. With this in mind, please choose one character from each vignette whose part you would like to fulfill.

NOTE- please realize that this is a serious commitment. If you cannot participate in the greater majority or all of the classes please do not RSVP. Clearly, some exceptions can be made, but please do your best to show up at every meeting if you RSVP.

I look forward to hearing back from you!

Sincerely,

Hudson Rippetoe

Sly Park opportunity

Parents,
My name is Andrea Faust. When I was in the sixth grade I got the chance to go to Sly Park. I had such a great time and it had such an impact on me that I went back years later as a camp leader. There were camp fires, arts and crafts, panning for gold hiking and much much more.

Now as a homeschool mom of three, I would love for my kids to have the same experience as I did. So I've been speaking with the coordinator of Sly Park trying to put together a trip for (our) homeschool kids that don't typically get to attend Sly Park because they don't attend a physical school.
Typically only 5th and 6th graders get the chance to attend Sly Park. But they are so graciously working with me to open up the experience to even the lower grades, so they can have the experience as well and not just the 5th and 6th graders. Also, because they will start younger they will be able to go several years before the age/grade cut off. Isn't that awesome?!

The dates will be August 10th, 11th and 12th 2015. There will be a fee, the fee will include accommodations in the cabins, breakfast, lunch and dinner (all days) there will also be contracted teachers on site (included in fee) to give the Sly Park experience that I know your children will love. Now, I don't know exactly what the fee will be at this point because I need to find out from you, the parents if there is any interest. There has to be a minimum of 75 kids to make this work. So please feel free to email me and/or call me with any questions you may have or to let me know that you are interested.
My phone number is 916-670-4255
And my direct email address is allmine_123@yahoo.com
Thank you all, and I hope to see you at Sly Park
Andrea
