EMH Sports Nerf Dodgeball!

Hello Parents and Guardians:

 

EMH’s most favorite PE class, Nerf Dodgeball, is starting in February. It’s so fun, parents ask to join in!

 

Description:

Nerf Dodgeball is a great cardio sport because of the jumping and dodging. The game also improves hand and eye coordination and quickness.

 

The balls used in this sport are made of a spongy and light plastic material and pose no problem when coming into contact with the students. These lighter weight balls move slower through the air and are easier to dodge.

 

We add several different sizes of balls and variations on the rules to keep it interesting and fun. The rules and regulations of the games will be discussed before each class.

Piano Lessons in Rocklin

Piano Lessons (1-3)

Why Learn Piano?

These piano lessons taught by Hannah Yeager, a homeschooled senior, are an easy way for young people to learn how to play a very influential instrument in the music world. Almost every instrument branches from the fundamentals of the piano and learning to read music, play chords, and, eventually, learn how to stylize and write your own music.

What will the students learn to do?

Level 1: Students will learn how to play songs using chords. They will learn to sing as they play, allowing them to learn tempo and some of the basics of music theory.

Level 2: Students will now transition into reading sheet music. The knowledge of finger placement, key names, and tempo will be needed to excel in this level. Students will learn how to read and play sheet music, learn the meanings of note script, and learn what the pedals on the piano do. (If the student is using a keyboard then they will learn how to use the pedal that comes with the keyboard). 

Level 3: Students will learn more complicated sheet music and will now be learning new songs in both chord script and piano music script. What they learn will then translate into writing their own song that they will write using both chords and sheet music. 

Cost

For thirty minutes: $20

For forty five minutes: $30

For one hour: $40

SECOND ANNUAL

IMPACT ECO-CHALLENGE

MAY 6-7

Impact Eco challenge is an overnight endurance race with teams of  6-8 that will rappel, orienteer, hike, complete stealth/recon maneuvers, focus on

team building and more.

Ages 13-18

Teams must consist of at least two girls.

Cost, location and more information coming soon.

There will be two training days 

of which one must be attended

Parent Participation is required

We will need at least 1-2 parent “teammates” per team.

Sonora Celtic Faire March 11th

Sonora Celtic Faire is having a Family Educational Day Field Trip on March 11 2016

9am-3pm at the Mother Lode fairgrounds in Sonora.

The event includes: Celtic Band "Celtica" ,Jousting, Celtic Renaissance History Walk through time ending with a few civil war era guilds, bagpipe demos and dance demos, stage shows include magicians and jugglers.

Group/Class rates are $7 per youth 5yrs to 17yrs. adults $10 per person. A group of 12 is required to pre-register for discount. Students receive a souvenir. 

If you don't want to come in a group/class then you can buy tickets at the gate adults $12 and students $8.
