Highschoolers: Intensive Chemistry Labs in January / Roseville

Hello dear homeschool friends, I have found a great, GREAT resource that allows our high schoolers to get A-G approved Biology and Chemistry labs for UC Campus approval.  Kids will gather in my home (1240 Kirkhill Dr., Roseville, 95747) and do a WHOLE YEAR of Chemistry labs in just 4 WEEKS, meeting once a week.  They will have a complete, actual lab book (not just a lined notebook or composition book).  Can be used with ANY Chemistry curriculum you're using.  No more having to go to class week after week after week.  Just do it all in 4 WEEKS with an expert.  All equipment and supplies included in the price.  The more kids we have, the lower the price!  So please, consider this option.  It really is VERY reasonably priced when you compare to the price of a "Science Weekend" with less hours and individual attention.  This is a max of 1 to 5 ratio.  I'll hope you'll join us.  For additional information, please look at labratacademy.com or email me atthesondrols@gmail.com.  Please let me know if interested ASAP!!

High School Finance Course / Rocklin / begins Jan. 15

Starting January 15th from 11-12 on Thursdays, I will be teaching Dave Ramsey's Foundations in Personal Finance for Homeschooled High School students. This personal finance curriculum engages students and teaches them practical and relevant financial skills.

Unit 3: Financial Planning and Insurance

  Highlights the importance of bargain shopping as part of a healthy financial plan and identifies important negotiation strategies.
• Chapter 8. Investing and Retirement
  Establishes basic investing guidelines, describes and compares various types of investments, and identifies elements of employer benefits and retirement plans.
• Chapter 9. Insurance
  Identifies the purpose of financial risk management as well as the appropriate and most cost-effective risk management strategies.

Unit 4: Income, Taxes, and Giving

• Chapter 10. Money and Relationships
  Identifies the differences among people's values and attitudes as they relate to money and highlights communication strategies for discussing financial issues.
• Chapter 11. Careers and Taxes
  Examines the importance of pursuing a career in line with your strengths, the elements of effective goal setting, the best practices of successful people, and types of income and taxes.
• Chapter 12. Giving
  Highlights the importance of giving of your time, talents, and money in order to serve others and leave a lasting legacy.
