Sacramento Federal Court Observation and Tour; April 6th 9-2; No Cost

UPDATE: Thursday, April 6th is the correct date (not the 11th) for the Sacramento Federal Court Tour and Court Observation.Time is still 9:00-2:00 (Court begins at 9:30).  Robert T. Matsui US Courthouse, 501 "I" Street; No cost. 

Come join us in observing court, meeting a judge, learning from a Assistant US Attorney and the Eastern District Federal Defender and then a lively show and tell with a Deputy US Marshal.  All ages welcome; primarily geared towards middle to high school age.  We will be joined with the Classical Conversations home school group as they prepare for their mock trial and learn about our court.  This is our 4th Home School day!  The day will be from 9:30 (court begins promptly so plan on arriving more like 9:00 in the rotunda as 9:30 is when we need to be seated) - 2:00.  Final agenda and schedule will be sent to the parent email as trials and law and motion calendars change quickly.   Once registered, you will receive security and parking information.  
Who: Geared towards middle-high school age students; but all welcome!  Older/mature students may be dropped off or drive themselves. 
What:  Court Observation, Tour, Meet a Judge; Asst. US Attorney/Federal Defender panel discussion; Show and Tell with a US Marshal 
Where:  Robert T. Matsui US Courthouse, 501 "I" Street, Downtown Sacramento (across from AMTRAK); Meet in Rotunda 
Time:  Seated in Court at 9:30; estimate 30 minutes for parking and security; we will leave the rotunda at 9:20; if late please see printed schedule in front of Kennedy Center on 1st floor to catch up.

Cost:  All educational programs at the Federal Court are always FREE! Estimate public parking at $10-12.00; brown bag lunch or visit our cafeteria and bring food down during our luncheon speakers.
