BSA Troop 107, a Christian Homeschool unit,  is holding an informational meeting regarding interest in our community to start up an ALL GIRL SCOUT TROOP on 

Tues, Feb 26th, 7:15pm, at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks.  

If you have a daughter that is 11-17 years old that might be interested in joining scouting, please bring yourself and your daughter to the meeting.  

Troop 107 has been a very successful boys Troop in the Sacramento homeschool community since 1991 with 99 scouts earning their Eagle rank.  Pack 107 started up in 2000 to bring in our younger sons into the fold.  Our primary mission in implementing the BSA program is to build positive moral character and good citizenship in our sons and daughters in an outdoor setting, as well as fellowship between families with similar vision for upholding God’s holy scriptural standards for living.  We have families from all over the Sacramento region (from Antelope, North Highlands, Rio Linda, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville, Auburn, Loomis, Granite Bay, Rancho Cordova, Gold River, even Cameron Park).  We meet weekly at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks.

Apologetics Club: Doubt & Certainty 2/15 Bridgeway Church

Bridgeway Christian Church Homeschool Support Group invites your teen to join us! (You do not need to be a member of our homeschool support group.)

We learned so much last year in our Apologetics Club! We are continuing to offer a once per month event that will help your student hear answers to questions they may be thinking about. My goal for my own kids is that they develop a Biblical worldview. I pray that their faith is challenged and they have opportunities to ask questions while they are still under my roof.

Each event will be on a Friday afternoon, but we do not have a set Friday each month as it’s dependent upon speaker availability. 

DATE: Friday, February 15th

TIME: 2:00-4:00pm 

Bridgeway Christian Church: Upstairs in Classroom 1

TOPIC:  Is it okay to have doubts about Christianity? What is the role of doubts in faith? How do I know this is all true? How much trust do we put in human intelligence and how much place do we leave for mystery? Is faith at odds with reason?   

Is your teen asking any of the above questions? Do they feel shame when they have doubts? Do they have a safe place to ask questions? This is the place to tackle some of these questions!

Speaker: Pastor Matt Bach

Matt Bach is the Director of Christian Development at Bridgeway. He was the Pastor of High School Ministries at Bridgeway from 2011-2017 and has a passion for connecting with youth. He holds an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Theology (Old Testament emphasis) from Briercrest Bible College. Matt is also an adjunct faculty member at William Jessup University. In his free time Matt loves reading, spending time at home with his family, and leading tours of Israel with GTI Tours.

COST: $5/student (parents are free)

WHO CAN ATTEND: ONLY students 6th grade and up. Parents are also encouraged to stay if you do not have younger students. If you do have younger siblings, feel free to drop your older students off. Do to the sensitive nature of some topics that will be discussed at this event or future Apologetics events, we are requesting that only 6th grade and older students attend.

HOW TO PAY: You may pay the day of the event in exact cash only. However, we ask that if you sign up, you commit to coming, so please check your schedules. We are paying a speaker fee and need to have accurate numbers of attendees for handouts.

Greetings! Sierra Pregnancy and Health (SPH) will be hosting our annual fundraiser dinner. The purpose of our Light + Life dinner is to raise funds, introduce new people to the organization, and share the eternal impact SPH is making in our community for health and life. 

We cannot put together this wonderful event without the help of many precious volunteers. We need YOU!! There are 3 areas in which we need people to help us make this night a complete success. 

Area 1: Servers: Serving the food to our guests alongside our caterer. 

We need 27-30 student/adult volunteers for this crucial area. If you are high school aged or a young adult, then we need YOU to come and help us serve the food. We partner with Randy Peter’s Catering and they love our student servers. . Servers will also stay after the event to help the caterer clean up and get things placed back in order. Each server will be fed dinner and receive a small thank you gift from us for all your dedication and hard work. 

Arrival Time: 4:00 pm

End Time: 10:00 pm

Attire: White Shirt, Black Pants, Comfortable shoes

Area 2: Set Up: Help us make our space usable and beautiful.

We need 25-30 people to help us set up our event. This will include many different tasks such as, decorating, moving items in and out of the room, etc. If you have a heart to serve in this area, then we have a job for you! 

Arrival Time: 12:00 noon

End Time: 3:00 pm

Attire: Comfortable Clothing, Comfortable Shoes

Area 3: Tear Down: Help us to turn the space back to its original state

We need 20 people who can help us to tear down the event. This will require moving tables, chairs, taking down décor, etc. Anyone can help in this area, many hands make light work! If you have a heart to serve in this area, then we have a job for you! Our event ends at 9:00 and we would like to have it all torn down in one hour.
