National Library Week - April 14 - 20, 2013

Celebrate the contributions of the Roseville Public Libraries!

Tell us how the library, books and reading have changed your life. Communities Matter is the theme for National Library Week, so we want to quote our customers and share the value of the Roseville Public Library. Here are four FREE things you can do with your Roseville Public Library card during National Library Week:Note: Roseville Public Library card must be presented for free admission.
  1. *Use the Roseville Sports Center, including equipment use, climbing wall use, and fitness classes both at this location and at the Maidu Community Center.
  2. *Swim for free at the Mike Shellito Indoor Pool on Sunday, Friday or Saturday during Recreational Swim.
  3. *Attend the Campfire at the Maidu Museum & Historic Site for free.
  4. Attend fun special Storytimes with local celebrities including a Firefighter, Police Officer, and other special guests.

Rocklin, Prom, ages 13-20, 50 spots available,$40 before Feb. 15

Come celebrate Prom 2014! 
Bring your teens to a chaperoned elegant evening in Rocklin and enjoy music, dancing, snacks and lots of fun! 
Open to all homeschoolers ages 13-20. 
No date, no problem. Groups are welcome and encouraged. Come by yourself and make new friends or
bring your friends along with you. 
Non-homeschoolers are welcome as long as coming with a homeschooler. 
Tickets are $40 per person if paid before February 15th. After that $50
per person. 
No tickets will be sold at the door, payment must be received before March 3rd. We are only selling 50 tickets this year, if all goes well, we hope to make it bigger and better every year.

2014 Homeschool Prom

Math Tutor Available

In case anyone is looking for a math tutor, I can recommend my long-time acquaintance, Robert Eakin. He is currently tutoring my 13 year old daughter in Algebra. She is very comfortable with him and always feels she understands her lessons so much better after meeting with him. He has reasonable rates and flexible hours and is a trustworthy person, as well as a follower of Jesus!

Homeschool Trips Around the World

Join Carolina Homeschooler in March 2015 for our second trip to Italy! We had a wonderful time last time, forging strong friendships and exploring ancient ruins and historical treasures, museums and cathedrals, canals, islands, and catacombs together. This time we'll visit Rome, Florence, Venice, Burano, Pisa, Verona, and Pompeii. Join us on our annual group trip to Disney World! We'll enjoy all four Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom), both water parks, DisneyQuest, Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and behind-the-scenes educational programs for our students in kindergarten through high school.

March 18th Lobby Day

Hello parents!

Capitol Resource Institute is hosting a Lobby Day on March 18th. This is a great event for parents and students alike. At this event attendees will learn how to effectively lobby their legislators for or against legislation. We know that you all have busy lives, so we want to help give you the tools to easily get involved and make your voice heard. The battle against families and religious freedom in California is real and we need everyone on board to help combat that. 

This is a great event for teens as they start thinking about how to exercise their civic duties. The first half of the event we will hear from wonderful speakers, and then we will put the tools acquired to use and head over to the Capitol for some hands-on experience in lobbying. 

This is sure to be a refreshing, educational, and inspiring event. The link below contains details:
